The Tree Club’s goal is not just to plant but to ensure that each plant reaches its full potential over time — become a tree — to give back to the people around it. Apart from planting and nurturing, The Tree Club also intends to build a community around itself that will strive to fulfil the core idea of augmenting the region’s green cover and make sure the full-grown trees endure for generations to come.

This is our endeavor to reach out to people and be able to plant in every nook and corner of town. Conventional planting has its disadvantages if people do not cooperate, as it can be quite expensive to plant, maintain and protect the plants from grazing animals, and in case of certain trees like neem, from humans too. A few times every month, we take the time to meet people at their homes. We choose a residential area or a colony, visit each house and greet them with a sapling. We talk to them about planting trees to make the neighborhood more green and livable. This process helps us understand the level of awareness town folk have, with regards to nature and our environment.
The Tree Club’s endeavor is self-empowerment by people’s participation. The idea behind Samarpanam is to encourage volunteers and members to grow a few fruit-variety saplings at their homes and gift them to us, for our tree planting drives. This way we minimize dependency and grow our own saplings.
